NO. 25 - Clean Cotton Fragrance Oil for Soaps & Candles

Clean Cotton Fragrance Oil is not a pure essential oil, but rather contains fixatives to make a longer-lasting and more fragrant product. It works beautifully for Candle Making, Soap Making and in Personal Care Applications such as Lotion, Shampoo, and Liquid Soap. This list is not exhaustive and we invite you to play, create and invent a million other ways to use it. We recommend you test a small amount before scaling up to larger size formulations. As with all VINEVIDA products, these fragrance oils are intended for external use only and should not be ingested under any circumstances.

Clean Cotton Fragrance Oil flourishes right out of the gate with the clean and fresh, notes of Lemon, Apple and Ocean Air. Bright, gorgeous and reminiscent of a summer's day. Made hearty with heady Jasmine and crisp, pristine Cotton. Cedarwood and sweet, indulgent Violet create the final crescendo of heavenly fragrance.

Aromatherapy

Clean Cotton Fragrance Oil with its crips, clean scent is perfect all around the home. Perfect for freshening areas with its vibrancy.

It is beautifully woven with the scent of Ocean and the glorious heady floral notes of Jasmine to make up the body of the scent and then expertly finished with warming Cedarwood and the sweet delicious greener notes of Violet.

Candles

Gorgeous as a custom scent for any room in the house but particularly suited to bathrooms for a clean, fresh ambience.

Custom Soap and Bath Products

Add a few drops to cold process or melt and pour soaps to fragrance your bathroom beautifully.

Air Fresheners and Linen Sprays

Dilute a couple of drops of Clean Cotton Fragrance Oil into a teaspoon of alcohol, then fill up your spray bottle with water. Absolutely the perfect choice to freshen the furniture, sheets and the carpet.

Crafting Projects

IFRA Guidelines for Maximum Dilution

Maximum dilution for this fragrance oil depends on the products you are planning on making.

It should be noted that maximum dilutions are from a safety aspect only, based on the chemical composition of the oil. In some cases these are very high, because all components are relatively benign. These amounts are not necessarily recommendations of how much to use in your recipe. They may smell too strong or make the item prohibitively expensive to produce. As long as you remain below the advised limits, you can be as generous or parsimonious as you like. Use more, use less. We’ll leave the creative stuff to you.

Directions for Use

Candles

Candles and related scented items fall under Category 12 of the IFRA safety standards. Clean Cotton Fragrance Oil has no restrictions on use for category 12. Feel free to use as much or as little as pleases your nose.

Soaps and Bathroom Fragrances

Clean Cotton Fragrance Oil lends itself well to bathroom products. Maximum dilution for personal care applications such as lotion shampoo and liquid soap or any other IFRA category 9 product is 81.25%.This category also covers laundry pretreatment and cleaning products.

Maximum dilution for making an aerosol room spray or any other item that will be propelled using a pump is category 10B and is not limited.

Hand Made Perfumery

Fragrance oils make wonderful additions to hand made perfumes. For cologne in category 3B designed to be applied to freshly shaved skin, a maximum dilution of 27.50% is appropriate. This would apply to both Eau de Toilettes or fine fragrances. For hydroalcoholic perfumery products in category 4A, designed to be used on unshaved skin, a maximum dilution of 71.66%.

If you decide to use Clean Cotton Fragrance Oil in deodorant or antiperspirant products in category 2, the maximum dilution is 3.83%. This applies to either roll on or body spray products.

Body Care

As per the IFRA regulations, the maximum safe dilution for Clean Cotton Fragrance Oil for category 5A is set at 18.33% if it is used for body creams, foot care products, insect repellents or talcum powder.

For specialized hand creams or to fragrance hand sanitizers in category 5C, maximum dilution would be 18.33%.

Safety Caution

Clean Cotton Fragrance Oil is not approved under IFRA safety guidelines for any kind of lip or mouth related products as per their categories 1 and 6.
